Chongqing, transportation hub in SW China

Chongqing is the transportation junction of water, road and air in southwest China. Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is one of the ten largest civil airports in China, 23 kilometers away from and less than 1 hour bus drive to the urban area. Located in Caiyuanba, 3 kilometers away from the west end of the Yangtze River Bridge, Chongqing Railway Station and Chongqing Bus Station occupy the most passengers in Chongqing, and own 20 train routes to each large city in China. The road transportation centers on Chengdu-Chongqing expressway through which less than 4 hours are taken to Chengdu.
Besides, there are many buses to nearby districts, counties and cities. The splendid Chongqing Chaotianmen Dock, a famous port of the Yangtze River, boasts luxurious passenger vessels open to foreigners (such as Big Dipper, Qiaofeng, Victoria etc), large-scale traveling ships (such as Jiangyu serials, Dongfang serials, Yingbin serials etc) to connect the cities in the lower reaches, like Yichang, Wuhan, Nanjing and so on. Tickets are available in each center. The normal voyage to Yichang is 2 days, Hankou 3 days and Nanjing 5 days. There is a high-speed hovercraft from Chongqing to Wushan (only 10 hours trip). In addition, contact centers for tourism at the Three Gorges are set up in railway stations, bus stations, ports, etc.
