There are three main railway lines crossing through Chongqing, namely Chuanqian railway (from Sichuan to Guizhou), Chengyu railway (from Chengdu to Chongqing), and Xiangyu railway (from Xiangfan to Chongqing), which also connect to other main railway lines in China.

There are two railway stations: Chongqing Railway Station (Caiyuanba) and South Railway Station (Jiulongpo). Besides, tickets are available at some other ticket centers in the city, with only extra 5 yuan for commission.
